CUET DU Cut Off 2026: Course & College-Wise Expected UG Cut Off : (General, OBC, SC & ST)

How DU CUET Cut Off Is Calculated (CSAS Logic)
DU does not prepare cut offs using raw marks or percentile alone. Seat allocation is based on your CUET normalized score, which is shift-adjusted using NTA’s normalization method and then used to prepare merit lists by University of Delhi Admissions.
CUET Score vs Percentile vs Normalized Score
Cut offs vary every year because:
- CUET difficulty changes shift-wise
- Number of high scorers changes
- Seat availability varies
- Category seat matrix affects closing score
- Programme demand differs
DU officially confirms UG admissions via CSAS portal using CUET scores (University of Delhi Admissions) and NTA’s normalization process is documented officially by (National Testing Agency)

College-Wise Expected CUET Cut Off 2026 (North vs South Campus)
North Campus institutions represent the upper tier of institutional prestige within the university. Colleges such as Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Hindu College, St. Stephen’s, and Miranda House consistently record the highest cut-offs over the years, requiring 99 to 100 percentile.
South Campus and off-campus colleges offer diverse academic environments and are often the preferred choice for students who seek a balance between prestige and manageable competition levels. Though Colleges like Lady Shri Ram (LSR) and Sri Venkateshwara are academic powerhouses equivalent to the top-tier colleges.
Top-tier vs Mid-tier vs Lower-tier What it typically includes
- Top-tier examples: SRCC, St Stephen’s, Hindu, Hansraj, Miranda House, LSR and North Campus Colleges
- Mid-tier examples: SBSC, Venky, ARSD clusters and other South Campus Colleges
- Lower-tier examples: Off-campus / evening clusters
Cut offs are almost always higher for Top-tier North Campus and slightly lower for South Campus / mid-tier (course-dependent).

Category-Wise Cut Off Variations (Why it happens)
Reservation policies are the sole determinant of seat allocation. The difference between the General category cut-off and those of reserved categories remains a vital point of analysis for applicants from OBC, SC, ST, and EWS backgrounds. Candidates belonging to the Other Backward Classes - Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) generally see a relaxation of 3% to 5% in percentile terms compared to the Unreserved category. In absolute score terms, this often translates to a buffer of 30 to 60 marks for top-tier colleges and 60 to 100 marks for mid-tier institutions.
Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates experience the most significant relaxations. For 2026, the expected passing marks for SC students range from 650 to 700, while ST candidates may find admission viable in the 600 to 650 range for popular courses. In less sought-after programs or off-campus colleges, these cut-offs can dip as low as 500-550 marks.
DU’s seat allocation is based on CSAS merit lists generated from CUET normalized score by NTA.
Common Mistakes in Interpreting CUET DU Cut Offs
What students misunderstand is:
- Percentile is not equal to cut off
- DU doesn’t allot seat based on percentile alone
- Your normalized score decides rank in the relevant merit list
But What matters most is actually:
- Normalized CUET score
- Merit rank
- Preference order (CSAS)
- Seat availability in the round
NTA confirms normalization is based on equipercentile method as described on their website (National Testing Agency)
Seasonality: How DU CUET Cut Off 2026 Might Change
Cut offs can rise/fall depending on the following situation:
- CUET 2026 difficulty + scoring pattern like new exam pattern introduced in 2025
- Number of test-takers as popularity of CUET is increasing
- More students scoring in higher marks
- Course popularity spikes (example: Psychology)
- Seat matrix / category fill rate as per course and college
- CSAS Round 2/3 vacancy procedure
Avoid these:
- “Cut off = minimum score required for DU” → Not true. DU has 90+ colleges and cut offs vary. You must aim at best colleges of Delhi University
- Confusing raw score with normalized CUET score
- Ignoring subject eligibility mapping. (Adding Reference of CUET prep blog here)
- Assuming Round 1 closing score will have huge change in Round 2
